The Wide-Mouth Zipper Pouch - £6+VAT

The Wide-Mouth Zipper Pouch is a large zipper pouch, designed to open up fully, like a basket so you can get to the contents. It has a zipper pocket on the front to keep your smaller items organised too.

This pouch is perfect as a wash bag, project bag, tool pouch, in fact anything where you might need to have a rummage around!

This pattern is a mixture of pattern pieces and cut sizes. All of the shaped pieces are provided, leaving just the rectangles for you to measure and cut out yourself.

  14” wide x 6” high x 3” deep

• Features of the Wide-Mouth Zipper Pouch

  • Front zipper pocket

  • Pull tab, for ease of opening

  • Fully fitted lining

  • Zip is longer than the bag, so you can open it completely

• Supplies needed to make this pouch

  You will need: Cotton fabrics, fusible interfacing (preferably non-woven), fusible fleece (I used Vlieseline low-loft fusible fleece), #3 (dress weight) zippers, zipper foot, chalk or other fabric marker

  Optional extras: Double-sided tape, fabric glue pen, ¼” foot

• Suggested fabrics

  Fabric A and B: Cotton quilting weight fabrics; cotton canvas; denim; waterproof canvas

  Lining: Cotton quilting weight fabrics; lightweight waterproof canvas

  Fusible interfacing: Any medium weight fusible interfacing. I recommend using a non-woven, to prevent stretching in the end panels, but I have also successfully made this pouch with woven fusible interfacing.

  Fusible Fleece: Vlieseline H630 low loft fusible fleece; Pellon fusible fleece, or similar. You can also use foam stabiliser, for a sturdier finish, but you may need to adjust the lining to maintain the fit.

• What is included with this pattern?

  The PDF comes as two separate files. The first contains a simple, six-step tutorial with twenty photos, enhanced with graphics to make it clearer to understand. The second file contains pattern pieces for the shaped pieces, ready for you to cut out and use. All sizes are in inches.
