The Forever Gift Bag - £5+VAT
The Forever gift bag is a fabric version of those lovely gift bags that we all like to hoard! It comes in three different sizes, and with three different handle options, you can really customise yours to suit the recipient.
The stiffness is created by the use of a firm fusible interfacing, and the edges are finished by a method of self-binding.
This pattern is made up of rectangles, which you measure and cut yourself. No printing required!
This is a downloadable PDF pattern sent to your email, not a physical product, and cannot be refunded once purchased.

There are three sizes, and three handle options for these gift bags:
Size 1 is the smallest, and will fit (for example) a chocolate orange
Size 2 is designed to fit a bottle of wine
Size 3 is designed to fit slightly larger gifts
Handle style a –single loop handle and closure
Handle style b – pair of handles with button and loop closure
Handle style c – pair of handles with tie closure - 1 ½” x 13” cut 4
The firm fusible interfacing creates the stiffness needed for a gift bag
You can use any handle with any size bag

You will need: Cotton fabrics, firm fusible interfacing, a button, strong cord (like a linen thread), chalk or similar, seam ripper
Optional extras: Fabric glue stick, ¼” foot, “handmade” label
-
Outer: quilting weight fabrics, lightweight canvas, lightweight denim
Lining: Quilting weight fabrics, poly/cotton blends
Fusible interfacing: This needs to be stiff rather than soft, to create the desired effect. I used Vlieseline H250.
