Do you like to take a sewing project with you when you go out?
The Sew & Go Project Case is a useful little fold-up caddy. It was designed with different kinds of storage to organise everything you might need when hand sewing on the go. It has:
- pockets for your embroidery thread bobbins
- divided elastic to hold scissors and a seam ripper
- a felt needlecase with two layers so you have space for needles and pins
- a spool holder to store regular sewing thread
- a storage pouch which converts into a tray so you can keep your project organised whenever you put it down - This pattern is supported by a full tutorial video.
- Every pattern piece is included, so there are no extra rectangles to draft yourself
- A cutting layout is included with the pattern pieces, to help you get the most out of your fabric
- The pattern pieces are marked with lines to show you where everything is positioned and stitched in place
- Included is a pattern piece to make your own continuous bias binding
- The video shows how to stitch and fold bias binding around a curve
- Inside the case is a layer of foam stabiliser. I used Vleiseline Style-Vil, but you could use Pellon Flex Foam, or By Annie’s Soft and Stable
- This pattern is designed to be sewn on a domestic sewing machine; I use a Janome DKS 100.
Finished size:
approximately 8 ¼” wide x 8” high x 1 ½” deep
The PDF comes as two separate files. The first contains a simple, six-step tutorial with fourteen photos, enhanced with graphics to make it clearer to understand. The second file contains the pattern pieces, ready for you to cut out and use, plus a cutting chart to help you plan your project. All sizes are in inches.
INCLUDED:
- A list of all the materials and quantities you need to complete the project;
- Instructions on how to cut and prepare the fabrics;
- Step-by-step instructions including photos of each step
- Photo tutorial and pattern pieces ready for printing
