This fold-up shopping bag is a straightforward design, but is made special by the use of a no-trim flat felled seam. This seam not only encloses all of the raw edges, but is really strong to hold the weight of your groceries. The bag stows away into the attached front pocket, which has a pretty applique design to add another element of interest. This pattern has two extra supporting tutorials.
Finished size is 14” w x 16” high, folds to 5 1/2” x 4”

You will need:
Quilting weight cotton: either 1/2 yard or metre plus scraps for the applique if making the bag in one fabric, or 3 fat quarters to complete the bag as shown.
Fusible web: 4” x 6”
Cord elastic: 4”
Buttons: 2 at approximately 3/4” diameter
